The Way is a trekking cultural route signposted which is linked to paths and routes existing in all Catalan-speaking counties and islands, spreading its culture, history, landscape and the spirit of these territories.
The Way is signposted by local people and there are paths suitable for everybody, the difficulty is mostly medium or low and everyone can adapt the length and level to his/her needs. The main path has a red mark while the secondary paths, yellow if it links different municipalities or green if it is a local circuit. The Way link all the county towns, and has an irregular eight form (mark), visiting all the villages to know its people, social initiatives, culture, art, habits, festivities and traditions, geography, landscapes, nature…It is a project still in the process of signposting, with all its local people as main characters and direct beneficiaries. The entities, neighbours and institutions of every municipality and county are the responsible for defining his part in the Way, the contents in the guide and the resources and services of each section.
Passing through Sant Joan les Fonts, the main part of the Way comes from Olot, and la Canya through la Mare de Déu d’Esperança hermitage and it goes to la Vall de Bianya. At the same time from la Canya centre, you can link to the secondary path of Sant Joanl les Fonts to Castellfollit de la Roca (9km) and after it goes to Montagut – Oix and l’Alta Garrotxa.
